PLEACE.id – Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, said that there were no large investors willing to fund the Coalition for Change. NasDem is currently exploring a coalition with the Democrats and PKS .
“This is unfortunate, there are no big investors, there are no small investors,” said Surya Paloh, when interviewed at JCC, Jakarta , quoted on Saturday (12/11).
He said, if anyone dared to provide capital in advance to the presidential candidate supported by the NasDem Party, namely Anies Baswedan, then he would pay respects to this investor.
“We also want it, say we want it, say we want it. If there are large investors, especially those who want to be close and sympathetic to NasDem, I say respect, be prepared,” said Paloh.
Nevertheless, he also said that he must be wary of investors who would end up disrupting the coalition. Because anything can happen in politics.
“This is all possible. If we say yes it is wrong, we say it is also not wrong. So we have to be vigilant, the Javanese language is eling and wospodo,” said Paloh.
Not Guaranteed Anies Can Run for President
Regarding the candidacy of Anies Baswedan, he was also unable to guarantee whether Anies could run in the 2024 presidential election. Because, apart from the issue of investors, the coalition of change has not yet found a common ground.
“How can we guarantee this, this is just a candidate for nomination from NasDem, an additional portfolio is needed that allows for that requirement to occur,” he said.
He explained about the presidential threshold rule of 20 percent. While NasDem only 10.3 percent.
“You know that Nasdem is only 10.3 percent, our requirement is 20 percent, yes we are lacking. Friends are needed, now as if there has been a good communication relationship with our friends from the Democratic Party, our friends from PKS, maybe each of us is watching, right?”
“With each problem, each problem, each self-evaluation, each strategy,” he added.
